Faux Finish: Metallic Paint Overhead

Faux Finish: Metallic Paint Overhead
Shine on! Copper, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and now just about any color imaginable come in metallic finish paints.  The latest to hit the shelves is the Ralph Lauren metallic in a rainbow burst of shimmers.http://www.ralphlaurenpaint.com/specialty_finishes/metallic

Here in sunny Southwest Florida, shades of gold and copper are extremely popular for our soaring ceiling heights and to complete the Mediterranean architecture.

If you’re DYI fan, metallic paints can now be purchased through your local home depot (http://www.homedepot.com/) and there are “How to Videos” on Ralph Lauren’s site…..BUT…… there are some steps that they don’t explain. True if all you need is one color only, you could do it yourself, maybe. Corners are tricky. And several times I‘ve had to go in and correct client’s metallic paint overlap seams. The biggest difference is dimension:

As a faux finish artist, I’m creating a feel and texture with various colors and techniques. That’s what a faux artist does. The results…breath-taking. Ceilings are a huge blank canvas. Faux finish them in metallics artistically applied and they accentuate and make your home something to be envied.

Metallic paints can also be applied to Medallions to beautifully accentuate a chandelier.
