Women’s History Month
March 2021 is Women’s
history month. Women have blazed trails in every aspect of our lives from
social reform, politics, the arts, philosophy, science, aeronautics, medicine, education,
and the list goes on. To honor the strength of women and their courage to take
life by the horns, we’re highlighting an art piece created for just that
purpose.
Rosie the Riveter
Rosie the riveter is
a plural allegorical icon of World War II. She represents the women who stepped
in and filled the void in factories and shipyards as the men went off to war.
She’s at once feminine, American spirit, strength, endurance, and the broker of
a new horizon which put women in the economic force of the United States.
