The Doorway to
Tropical Time
The SW Florida is the
life everyone craves. It’s always sunny and balmy. It’s active and fun without
being over the top. It’s relaxed and comfortable with a hint of refinement. So are
our interiors. Well, in this case, interior/exterior. I’m currently working on
a home being transformed away from the trendy ultra- modern look and embracing
a Tommy Bahama feel. The first project was a new front door. The paint request
was to style after the Plantation Brown look of the furniture. The result is breath
taking.
Even the handles are faux finished in an oil rubbed bronze look:
When the doors begin, after priming they are given a coat best described as orange juice:
Several coats of glazes are painted on as well as graining until the rich tone is achieved:
The look continues onto the interior side:
The final step is a clear hard coat. All paints, glazes, and clear coats are created to endure the elements.
