Through the Looking
Glass -Sink
Glass sinks are gorgeous. The glass sink is
often a focal point in today’s interior trend of being stark and modern. I was
surprised to receive a call from a homeowner who had only by a few weeks
renovated her entire condo and already needed changes. She had ripped out the
dark heavy Tuscan look. From floor to ceiling the condo gleams in bright white
and subtle gray. HOWEVER--- when the Master Bathroom glass sinks arrived they
were more transparent than anticipated allowing the under- sink pipes to be
viewed. Her supplier was either unwilling or unable to switch them out. She had
become quite frustrated after many conversations with them and the final result
being that she had to keep the sinks. That’s when she contacted me to see if as
a faux artist I could help her. Absolutely! The solution was simple: Pearl white and various shades of metallic silver were glazed to the underside of both
master sinks. The color keeps with the interior theme, the paints are tempered
for glass and wet environments, and the ugly pipes are no longer visible.
