One of our treasures of
SW Florida is the stunningly gorgeous Sanibel Island. It is a destination spot for
tourists, honeymooners, those fleeing the bitter cold of the north, and even
our locals. The beaches are filled with fabulous shells of all kinds. Collecting
shells is a favorite pastime for anyone visiting Sanibel. A recent homeowner
who loves collecting shells on Sanibel decided to have her favorite retreat
location painted onto her poolside privacy wall.
With the serene
colors of sky and gulf waters of the mural, the poolside is truly a retreat:
In the distance you
can see the Sanibel lighthouse:
And, of course, the
beach is scattered with shells:

Faux Finish
Our primary bath is
often our sanctuary. It’s a place to soak the troubles of the world away, take
a few deep breaths, and unwind. The wall finish in the primary bath needs to simultaneously
bring happiness and peace. And that is just what this gorgeous faux finish combination
does with its blend of soft metallic blue and metallic silver.
To create this serene finish, the walls were painted in Sw7653 Silverpoint cut in half. The colors used for the faux glaze are Modern Masters Blue Shimmer and Modern Masters Platinum. A traditional method of rub-on and rub- off evokes the expanse of the sky.

Sports fans are the
best. They deeply embrace their team rain or shine. Recently, a Chicago Bulls
fan requested the logo of their team painted in their “mancave” along with inspirational
words. The homeowner is a transplant to
Forida from Chicago, and this room helps him celebrate his team and gives a
touch of his hometown.
The Chicago Bulls was founded on January 16, 1966, and played its first game during the 1966–67 NBA season.

This weekend has been
incredible. One of the most precious little beings was born. Sweet little Liam
arrived totally healthy and absolutely perfect. He’s already full of wonder of
the world around him. In honor of my great nephew’s entrance, I’m posting art

Classic Winnie the Pooh Mural
Classic Winnie the
Pooh Mural
Everyone loves Winnie the Pooh and Piglet and all the delightful characters that reside in the “Hundred Acre Wood “. It was such a joy to paint this classic Winnie the Pooh mural for the homeowner’s nursery. The baby arrives soon and the room is all ready for him.
The background color
was already painted by the expectant parents. In order to have the character
colors pop, each image was drawn onto the wall and filled in with white
acrylic. Then the images were painted in their proper color.

Once complete, Modern
Masters clear coat in Satin was painted on to seal the images and allow for
little hands to touch the wall without damaging the mural.

The base color is Sherwin Willaims SW6487. The silver foil is crinkled before applying to the smooth walls. And a gloss clear coat applied to seal the finish.
