Faux Painting: The "Wow" Factor

Faux Painting: The “Wow” Factor
Fabulous- Gorgeous- “Wow” certainly describes this project in Pelican Preserve.  The home owner’s entry and living areas were previously a muted creamy yellow and they were ready for an updated pallet and a request to make the entry have a “wow” factor. The sophisticated rage for taupe to greige ( a color somewhere between grey and beige) laid the soft foundation for the general population of the walls. The deep teal accent color was spring boarded from their glass bottle collections, art carving, and a painting acquired in their travels. Now the entry says “wow” and the art pieces “pop”:

The entry’s round tray ceiling is painted in a deep teal over-laid with deep metallic teal ( artist's own creation ) and then a layer of warm metallic grey. The walls are fauxed in varying shades of taupe and warm grey allowing a base of deep teal to peek through. Bright white trim is used for the trim:

The side wall faux finish technique of the entry is used on an accent wall in the sitting area, giving the carved wood pieces a fabulous back drop:

The deep teal is used above the kitchen cabinets and under the chair rail in the breakfast/kitchen tech center:

The crew gets hand on with the home owner in helping re-set wall pieces after painting is finished:
