A Belgium Landscape

Belgium Landscape
The first thing that springs to most American’s mind when they hear the word “Belgium” is chocolate, as well as, waffles and beer. I’m blessed to have spent part of my childhood in Europe. Of course, beer wasn’t an option then. But I have so many wonderful memories of our time there. The people were kind and friendly. The food was mouthwatering.  And the landscapes postcard perfect. It was a complete delight when a client requested a European landscape mural for the backdrop of a fountain she had transported over from Belgium.
The Ardennes region of southeast Belgium extends into Luxembourg, Germany and France. Its dense forests are full of deciduous trees, meandering rivers, and rippling brooks.

The fountain has been set under the stairwell. The sky portion extends up the underside of the stairs. The tree- tops tip onto the underside as well:

Love this portion of the water over the brook rocks on the left-side:

A few more close-ups:

Pulling back for a view of the full underside. You can see hints of the wallpaper along the right wall across from the stairwell. The mural colors were kept earthy, so the two walls are complimentary. A clear top- coat protects the mural from water splashes.

An extra bonus, the home owners adorable Labrador hung out with me while painting:

Pebble Beach Golf Course- 7th Hole

Pebble Beach Golf Course- 7th Hole

Nestled between Monterey and Carmel, California are amazing resorts with world class accommodations, luxury spas, breath taking scenery, …oh yeah, and of course, legendary golf courses. A recent client, who like almost everyone here in SW Florida, happens to be an avid golf fan. After several excursions seeking framed golf art, he decided instead to go the route of a golf mural. The placement is over his lanai slider as it overlooks the golf course on which he lives in sunny Florida. Now he can enjoy his golf view of two sunshine coasts at the same time.
The World- Famous 7th Hole at Pebble Beach

Next project will be the view from the ocean. Can't wait ! Of course, another option would be to paint one of our famous Florida Golf Courses out at Pebble Beach- that'd be a fun art adventure !

Have a favorite golf course ? Contact me at Swan Studios Inc and let's create a view to be envied ! ( Framed or mural'd )

Impressions of Nature

Impressions of Nature

Nature gives us a silver lining during this time of Social Distancing & Isolation. The Pre- Covid 19 world was in a hustle and bustle. Now that we’re all in change of pace with plenty of time to reflect, we now have the time to take a walk and enjoy the gorgeous world around us. My husband and I decided to enjoy nature by planting a garden. It’s a joy each evening to water the fruit trees and watch as the soil sprouts up new life. As an artist there are stacks of projects always in need of attention in the work area. Some self- inspired, others commissioned. And just like our garden, it’s a joy to take part in bringing forth new life. One of the art pieces requested was a duo of stretched canvas giving the impression of nature. The set was to flank either side of a flat screen tv in a main living area and give the impression of trees.:

Each canvas is 16x40 stretched canvas with a 1.5 inch cradle. Each canvas can also stand alone
as a solo piece:

The canvas are mixed media of various acrylics, paints, inks, gel, and acrylic texture additives. That's part of the joy of working in the art space. All the fun mediums are right at my finger tips.

Extreme Close ups of the canvases :

Be inspired by nature. Bring it indoors. Contact me at :

To assist in our need for social distancing, we encourage our clients to email a photo of the space
where you would like your art piece hung. We'll work with you through the use photoshop and conference calls so that consultations are done through technology.

Flashing Blue Skies

Flashing Blue Skies
There is beauty everywhere we look. Even if the current days seem dark and scary as every country, state, county, and city is on some level of quarantine and isolation. In fact, as I write this in isolation in my own home in SW Florida, I’m sitting on my lanai listening to my parakeets happily chirp, the pool gurgle, and a breeze ruffling through the trees. The view is beyond glorious with bright sunlight beaming across the canal and lighting up a deliciously blue sky chock full of fluffy marshmallow clouds. And it’s the sky that is once again the inspiration for today’s art focus.
A recent client wanted to give her home an updated color palette with a peaceful serene feel. Golden tan walls were changed to a windswept white. Dark chocolate walls were repainted to peaceful turquoise. And a plain white dining ceiling was faux painted to seem as if the roof was torn away giving a full view of skies above.
Before & After
Before the ceiling was plain white with a harsh brown stripe. The ceiling now sports pearlized blues and creams. An extra effect was added with a coat of Blue Flashing effects paints. When the dining lights are on it gives an ethereal romantic feel to the room:

Going Grey

Going Grey
Amid all the Corona Virus social distancing and self-isolation there has been a flurry of memes on social media from parents with a great sense of humor. The lock down and semi quarantine is offering serious entertainment as they try to keep rambunctious children productively occupied and learning to homeschool.  To say the least, its causing more grey hairs. Going grey isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Especially if its by choice. I’m not referring to hair color. I’m referring to interior colors. Specifically, home accessories. The color of many items in your home can be update to the newest grey color palettes. Here’ s some ideas to inspire you as stare in isolation at your home’s interior:

Almost a decade ago I had the pleasure of changing this adorable photo partition to a copper metallic finish. The home’s interior is now transforming to a current color pallet, so the frame has been updated to match:

New mirrors fit perfectly for this home owners bathroom remodel, but they needed to change from gold to silver :
Decided to photo -bomb : Hi Mom !

A girl's gotta have bling ! Both the wall clock and jewelry armoire are refinished with silver and oodles of glittery sparkle:
