Peace and Tranquility
We all need those
moments when we are left alone to our own thoughts. We need a time to reflect,
reminisce, think over an upcoming decision, or perhaps just not think at all.
The world is full of noise and chaos. Keep the television on too long and you
begin to think the human species is doomed and the planet will end any second
now. Truth is- we create that chaos. The world itself is quiet, peaceful, and
breath taking. We have an entire universe to enjoy. Its important to find a
place to be calm and tranquil. For those blessed to live here SW Florida, that
place is often on the water. For some, the open Gulf Water is their happy
place. For others, the still backwaters are their preferred sanctuary, whether
natural or man-made. That’s my dad’s favorite place. He grew up fishing. His
fishing shed is overflowing with every lure and pole imaginable. And don’t get
mom started on the fleet of boats he maintains. But it makes him happy. In globe full of turmoil, with buckets full of
memories good or bad, he’s found his place to rest and reflect. A place of
tranquility.
Recently commissioned
for an upcoming retirement community that focuses on this very theme, this
piece is titled “Tranquility”. It depicts a sole fisherman enjoying a quiet moment wrapped in the beauty and majesty of the sky as it reflects into calm and peaceful waters.
The gallery wrapped canvas is 27x21. Mixed media.
