Sunny Italy
One of my biggest
bucket list items is to spend a month or more exploring and soaking in the
treasures of Italy. At the point, especially in light of the serious pandemic
on the globe, painting Italy will have to suffice. A recent client who is (well,
had been) a frequent visitor to Italy requested a Tuscan scene to be painted
onto the back side of her kitchen cabinet. Not as odd as it sounds. The back
side of this particular cabinet is in the center of the home and can be viewed
for every angle in all the other areas. Including when you’re outside on the
lanai. The back of the cabinet was a raised solid surface with molding. Once
painted, the molding creates the illusion that it’s a framed painting. Of
course, the proper primer was applied first, and a clear protective coat
applied at the end.
