Faux Painting: Home
Is Where the Hearth Is
Even in sunny
Southwest Florida we appreciate he coziness of a fireplace. Granted we light
them for ambiance, not heat. Since most
of the fireplace construction is in architectural foam products I’m often asked
to faux paint the fireplace or its surrounds to create the warm Mediterranean
look that graces our homes.
Subtle faux glaze
gives a warm feel to a neutral interior palette:
Formally bright white
the faux painting now allows this fireplace exude warmth without being lit:
The bricks are
painted in a variety of honey browns, sienna, umber, and creams
The mantle and hearth
are painted in faux marble.
The columns and
niches are faux painted in deep bronzes and coppers.
